Sheila, being curious and wanting to verify what I was
going to say about rabbit milk, I googled for "rabbit
milk" and found some interesting links.
<http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&dopt=Abstract&list_uids=20426190>
or http://tinyurl.com/xyjp "Recombinant human
alpha-glucosidase from rabbit milk in Pompe patients."

<http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&dopt=Abstract&list_uids=20014704>
http://tinyurl.com/xyjz "Human acid alpha-glucosidase
from rabbit milk has therapeutic effect in mice with
glycogen storage disease type II"
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/852647.stm  "Rabbit
milk saves babies" (more on Pompe). This one is
cool: "Discovery of a rabbit mammary pheromone that
guides newborn rabbit pups to their mother's milk"
<http://www.cnrs.fr/cw/en/pres/compress/pheromoneLapine.htm>

the list goes on with lots of interesting milk stuff-
Valerie might be interested in some of the articles.
But from
http://classes.aces.uiuc.edu/AnSci308/milkcomp.html  I
was able to find: 12.2% fat, 10.4% protein, .8
protein/fat, 1.8% lactose, 2% ash, 26.4% total solids
vs human at 4.4%, 1.1%, 0.2, 6.8%, 0.2%, 12.6%
respectively. Rabbits are a caching species, meaning
they visit their nest infrequently to feed and the
kittens must digest the milk slowly. Of course, I
wonder who gets the job of milking those bunnies?
They can be quite aggressive!
