In this article J.M. Looks at three variable in routine bed sharing vs
no sharing couples... he does this in a lab. he looked at # of feeds( twice
as many) , duration of feeds( three times as long) and total duration of
feeds( 39%). not sursprising, to most of us, the number and duration of feeds
in the routine bedhsharing couples is greater!

As many studes show that bf is protective agains sids and may be dose
related. ( this can be from increase in iga as some theories speculate
bolulism or viral infection in sids cases) then one could reason theat
increase bf - as seen in routine bed sharing is a protection against sids.

One can also look at maternal reproductive physilogy. - more feeds, less
ovulation greater iron stores, longer recuperative time between pregnancis
