I have always been an active person but while nursing my 1st and second
children was more svelte than ever despite making it to the gym less often. They
were both late walkers so it wasn't that I was chasing them around either. Then,
my third child was born with special needs and could not nurse for many
feedings. I did not lose weight that time. I definitely noticed a difference
between weight loss and my "good" nursers and with my daughter who nursed weakly at
breast.

I do agree that we have different patterns due to genetics though I seemed to
effortlessly lose weight while nursing and had always had to fight to get the
lbs off before. What I find most interesting is how many are describing rapid
weight loss after weaning. I hadn't thought of it that way before but can see
how that makes logical sense too. Heather
