My take on this is that it is exogenous iron, but also the fact that other
foods (solid or liquid) are given that messes up the nice breast
milk/lactoferrin cycle.  Gut flora changes etc.  So if you have to
supplement, you supplement with formula with iron.

I'm off to the LLL of NJ conf. Sat.  My talk is on hypothermia,
hypogylcemia and hyperbilirubinemia.  After I say not to separate mom and
baby  or all these things can happen, I'm still not sure what else I'm
