I was talking to a California LC friend of mine tonight, and she told me she
went to a breastfeeding conference where they discussed formula
supplementation.

Bottom line was that formula DOES NOT change the gut flora of newborn
infants, as previously thought. I was stunned. I had read Ruth Lawrence's
comments about this subject in her book (albeit a few years ago), and she stated the
gut flora was changed forever.

Can anyone out there shed some light on this for me. TIA. You can email me
privately if you want.
