the Month

**Hi Susan,

Really the bonding through eating is in the social interaction and contact.

**And you know why...? Eating fills the stomach and then the intestines and
when they get filled, cholecystokinines (cck's) are produced and this in
turn triggers oxytocin release... which makes people open and ready for
interaction and more friendly and trusting. :o)) That is why business diners
are lucrative: being full of trust will cause people to make deals with
those they share a rich dinner table with.

Warmly,

Marianne Vanderveen IBCLC, Netherlands
