I wondered the same thing myself. We have a mom in our LLL Group who has
only nursed her 10 month old son on one side. If anyone ever had any doubts
about a baby getting enough milk from only one breast, they'd just have to
look at this little guy. He weighs in at a whopping 35 lbs! Mom's a bit
lopsided but the baby is obviously doing just great.
