Human breast milk not only protects infants from infections but also
appears to fight cancer. Swedish researchers report that in test-tube
experiments, human milk triggered destruction of up to 98% of malignant
lung-tumor cells while sparing all normal cells. The killing agent is a
common milk protein called alpha-lactalbumin.
