In September of 2010, Jean called me and asked if I'd be willing to translate her presentation of Reverse Pressure Softening to Spanish to present it with her in the ILCA Conference in 2011.

It was a real challenge and took many months, trying to reduce her huge presentation into the time allotted - and we were able to create handouts that were bilingual at the same time. Her grandson, Kyle Cotterman did a wonderful job of drawing them...and then we decided we wanted the mom to appear laying down, as that made much more sense! Yes, it was quite a challenge. (She gave me permission to post it in the Breastfeeding Coalition of Solano County website: www.solanocounty.com/breastfeeding - go to the Index and then to R for Reverse Pressure softening.)

The presentation was given with Jean holding a bilingual set of notes and slide pictures so she could follow what I was saying - and she also did the activities and demonstrations. It was very well received and appreciated by the participants!

I will really miss reading her messages, and I do hope they are assembled in a way that new IBCLCs can access and read - there was a lot of wisdom there!
