Hi Kathleen:

Thanks for the interesting hx of lactnet - hard to believe 700 in only 1
year! Kind of reminds me of the growth of our profession on the whole...

About that home bag question you posted for Ellen - a terrific reference was
in the JHL last year 10(3), Consultants' Corner - The "home bag": a must for
LCs on the go by Sherry Hatcher. It was a great starting point for my home
health/private practice home visiting bag. To streamline my organization
and keep an orderly bag, rather than have a notebook with the
teaching/charting handouts, as suggested, I now keep a portable file - found
at any "mart" for ~$10 to file my papers. I keep what I think I will need
on a clipboard to take into mom's home and make a trip back out to the car
if needed for other handouts not anticated. The nurse in me must now show
in that I additionally have barriers in my bag to lay on the floor and place
the bag upon -also one to place the scale on - Oh and of course there is the
scale that obviously doesn't fit in the bag... Add in one rental pump,
several other purchaseable pumps and one has very little trunk space left!

Hope this helps. Happy Thanksgiving all!
