Fervent thanks to Melissa, the cool head of reason, for suggesting that
abbreviations, although cute, be curtailed or kept to a minimum.
Personally, at times I am overwhelmed by the volume and content of a
day's messages, and get frustrated with having to stop to try to reason
out what an abbreviation means because I'm fearful of missing something
professional, and then discover that it's one of the cute ones. This on
top of constant husbandly harping about the amount of time I'm devoting to
my addiction (Lactnet) makes me cranky. Thanks for understanding, and
Melissa, I love you! Judy K., a former American who's not plugged in on
current slang or even current professional terms - my first time seeing
BM in a message nearly short-circuited me (bowel movement to my generation)
