If Dr. and Mrs. Sears do not understand the issues here, I would suggest
they re-read Human Milk in the Modern World by the Jelliffes, Breastfeeding
Matters by Maureen Minchin, Politics of Breastfeeding by Gabrielle Palmer
and Milk, Money and Madness by Naomi Baumslag and Dia Michels. They don't
seem to understand the concept of endorsement by association.

When they say breastfeeding is best but...babies who need formula need one
with DHA- everything before the but is negated. When they say we support
breastfeeding but we want to reach more parents- everything before the but
is negated. When they say human milk is the best for babies but we sit on
the BOD of Wyeth to help make formula better- everything before the but is
negated. Endorsement by association. Remember the old saying that actions
speak louder than words? By associating himself with a formula company he
is directly and indirectly endorsing their product. They know that his
association with them is a valuable commodity which will increase their
sales. I'll bet the formula companies are laughing all the way to the bank!
