Here is an email I got. Just for your interest.

Jack Newman, MD, FRCPC

I was in the mall today buying clothes, and a mother and her friend came
into the store with a baby that looked just a few weeks old. As the mom
tried on clothes, the friend pushed the stroller. The baby started to cry,
so the friend tried the pacifier, which the baby promptly spit out. The
baby kept crying, and she kept pushing the stroller back and forth. So I
said to my daughter (who is 1 tomorrow!), "Somebody's hungry!" So the
friend asked the mother, who was still in the change room, where the bottle
was, and she came out to look. She looked through the whole bag, and guess
what! THEY LOST THE BOTTLE! I couldn't believe it. The stood there trying
to figure out where they had left it while the baby fussed. They had some
water, so they gave the baby some, and it settled down a bit. So,
unbelieveably again, the friend took the baby out in the stoller to walk it
to sleep while the mother tried on more clothes and paid for them! Of
course, the baby fell asleep. At no time through this whole ordeal did
either one of them pick up the baby.

I tried to figure out how I could say something, but I couldn't. I wish I
could have asked the mother to come in the change room with me so I could
help her nurse the baby, or at least tell her to go the the drug store a
few stores down and buy some ready-to-feed formula. I couldn't believe she
stayed in the store knowing she had no food for her baby.

After the baby had been asleep for awhile and the friend had pushed it
around the mall, she came back with the lost bottle. She retraced their
steps and found it.

This is what Nestle, Mead Johnson...has brought us to.
