Hi, All:  I'm tired of being frustrated in my attempts to find a definitive 
answer to the question of how long, if at all, a mom would need to 
interrupt breastfeeding after any radiologic procedure for which she has 
received a contrast medium.  I know that several different agents are used, 
depending on the type of test and the area of the body being scanned, but I 
have yet to get a straight or consistent answer from our radiology 
department when I ask, on behalf of a mom, what agent she will be 
receiving, so that I can counsel her appropriately.  I left a voicemail 
with our director or radiology, asking for a list of the agents they use 
and what tests they are used for, but have not heard back from him.
My question for the group, does anyone know of such a list?  Tom Hale's 
list at the end of his book becomes much more useful for me, if I have this 
information.
I do have an excellent article from the ACR (American College of 
Radiologists) Bulletin, October 2001 titled:  Administration of Contrast 
Medium to Breastfeeding Mothers, but again, it would be much more useful to 
me if I knew, when a mom asks me, what agent she will be receiving.
