Don't even try to figure out what the ped is thinking! It doesn't make sense
anyway.
You can say that this is the only ped that you know of who recommends this.
Most pediatricians subscribe to the well-researched information provided by
the American Academy of Pediatrics: exclusive breastfeeding for 4-6 months
and continued breastfeeding beyond the 1st year as mutually desired by the
mom & baby. Cereals & other "solid" foods are not handled well by babies
systems until they have matured for at least 4-6 months. It helps to quote
some studies, ex: cereal does not help babies sleep thru the night, babies
sleep thru the night when they are developmentally ready, early intro of
foods can lead to allergic reactions.

I've said this a few times myself! Good luck.
