Fiona,

I am not sure that it is stress as all that inhibits the MER.  An with
absolutely no research to back me,.... I think the moms talk themselves into
not letting down whether to baby or pump.  As far as stress, weren't most of
the babies in the bomb shelters of WWII England breastfed?  I do not know
what stress levels particular women feel but I am sure it would be
significantly less than the women in the shelters who did ok.  Come to think
of it, most babies in most wars are breastfed because of inconsistant
artificial milk supplies.  Sometimes reasurring moms that their emotional
state should not affect MER, often allows it to happen.

For what it is worth, from sunny Arizona where we'd like to borrow some of
the Eastern US winter before it is summer again,
