Jennifer, I am sorry if my comments about vaccinations offended you or
anyone else on LactNet.  LactNet is not the place to debate the vaccination
issue, any more than such topics as circumcision or abortion -- I was using
that as an analogy.

I do believe most health care professionals understand that both
breastfeeding and vaccination provide the best health outcomes for children,
and this (health outcomes for children) is one of the basic bottom lines for
me.

Perhaps one has to spend time in a country where vaccinations are not
available to truly understand what life is like where children still die
from polio, measles, tetanus, diphtheria, and whooping cough.

And remember that if a mother chooses to formula-feed her child, only her
own child's health suffers as a result, whereas if she chooses not to
vaccinate her child, she increases the risk of disease for all children in
the community.
