Pat, I would recommend calcium/magnesium supplements.  I have found it
helpful for moms who are newly pregnant and have hypersensitive nipples.

I recommend beginning with 1000mg a day of calcium and 500mg of magnesium,
spread out over the day.  Most ca.mag/ supplements are made with 3 tabs
supplying 1000mg of ca, with the accompanying 500mg of mag. Good products
always have them in a 2/1 ratio.

If she notices improvement she can try going down to 750mg.
