I have a mom in a similar situation - baby #3 10 months old. Last week she
started to notice that both breasts started to ached after a pumping. She
has only pumped twice in the last week but seems convinced that her pain is
related - I don't think it is.her pump is a PNS and she has used it numerous
times in the past several moths with no issues. She has had a long battle
with thrush, however, and is currently on a round of Diflucan.

Currently both breasts ache all the time. She was taking ibuprofen as
needed, I suggested she take it regularly - also to see the Dr. She denies
any redness, warmth or specific tender spots and denies any plugs. She says
the entire breast (both) just hurt - on a scale of 1 - 10 they hurt at about
a 5 chronically.

I have no clue.I am guessing it is thrush but not sure. I told her to go
see her Dr, do an ultrasound to rule out anything going on inside - do a
culture to rule out staph.possibly do another round of Diflucan (not sure
how long she has been on it - she couldn't remember.

Thoughts?
