Debi,
When teaching about bf either in a one to one or in a group setting, I try to
let them know what's in it for *them* specifically... advantages such as
cost, not running to the store in the middle of the night, etc. I find it
helpful to ask if the group has specific info they are seeking or info they
may have heard so I can clarify as needed. Then I talk about the how-to's.
Emphasis on the positive..for example when teaching positioning/latch on,
get them excited about how to recognize a proper latch. Then you can
mention, that when the baby is latched on correctly, nipple soreness is
alleviated, that is no pain. In other words, I would not talk so much about
the problems, I'd educate and talk more about what to do to *prevent
problems*,
recognize when to seek assistance, and know where they can go/call for help.

Hope this info is helpful to you.
