Hi,

I also asked a similar question, but I guess it´s a topic no one feels very
sure about.

Here is what I found. Many articles talk about perinatal transmission of
HPV... transmition during pregnancy, during birth, during contact with
infected caregivers... a few studies analize the transmission of HPV thru
human milk. They all agree that even though you can detect HPV DNA in human
milk, it is NOT related to the apareance of HPV in the baby´s mouth.

The possibility of vertical transmission of human papillomavirus through
maternal milk.

The best review of HPV transmission, to my taste, is this one:

I have found nothing specific about warts on mother´s nipples and the baby
breastfeeding from that nipple. Looking thru the Lactnet archives there are
a couple of anecdotal cases of babies who have breastfeed from a nipple
that presented a wart, the wart disappeared (baby swallowed it, probably)
and baby had no problems anytime later.

That´s all I can say!!!

Warmly from Madrid, where Spring is in full, beautiful swing,

Kika
