There are many stories that come in to a newspaper or tv or radio station
each day. The ones that make the print or broadcast are those that are
presented with power behind them. When formula makers add something
amazing ingredient or there is a new pharmaceutical drug there is major
public relations and marketing efforts standing ready to be sure that it
gets to the public's attention.

The same money runs the newspapers and other media that runs our government
agencies. There was a program on radio last week on the decline in
newspaper integrity and advertising was seen as a major cause of the
decline. What is printed and what is not is driven by money.

Did any of your print or broadcast media cover a story from the June 7th
issue of _Cancer_ ? The headline reads "Breast Cancer Risk May Soon
Increase for Black Women."

The text says that lower pregnancy rates and reduced Breastfeeding among
black women may mean that they will soon face an increased risk of breast
cancer.

"The study found live births and breastfeeding lowered the risk of breast
cancer in both white and black women. Among women aged 35-49 the risk
reduction of breast cancer per live birth was 13% for white women and 10%
for black women."

"The study also found the risk of breast cancer decreased the longer a
woman breastfed."

Who contacted the news media with a barrage of press releases on this news?
Is this news worthy of dissemination?
