Baby exclusively breastfed and 6 mos old. Consultant had mom cold-turkey
switch to exclusive pumping and she was to feed the baby 6 oz of expressed
milk via bottle 4x/day. She was also to increase solids significantly.
Yup--no breastfeeding and no nighttime feeds by any method as baby
"transitioned" to the new schedule.

Mother called me about her dwindling supply (surprise surprise...)

PLEASE tell me this is atypical for sleep training plans!>>

Sounds very much like the book, "Twelve Hours of Sleep by Twelve Weeks
Old" by Suzy Giordano, "The Baby Coach", "one of the most sought after baby
sleep specialists in the country. This is her plan exactly. Feed baby no
more often than 4 times a day, baby is to sleep from 8 pm to 8 am, and in the
12 "wake" hours, take two 2-hour naps. She does admit it goes easier with
bottle feeding since you can control how much the baby takes.

Jan Barger, RN, MA, IBCLC, FILCA -- who read the book on the plane to
Vermont one day and thought they would have to put the plane down to take me to
the hospital in heart failure. It was that bad.
