Hi everyone. I need any information regarding Osteogenisis in the neonate.
Have a mom gravida 3 Para 3 who has a new born baby 2 days old. She was
born with a fractured hip, clavical and several ribs. Is in NICU and being
fed ABM with bottle. Mom was told that she would not be able to breastfeed
her because positioning and handeling of the baby could break more bones.
They have her lying in crib on pillow and sheep skin and only minimally
elevate the head for bottle feed. No one mentioned to her that she could
pump and feed. She Bf other two children. We started her on double internal
piston pump today. Discussed importance of giving as much EBM as possible no
word at this time from the Neo's on wheather thy will be allowing mom to give
Bm but I think they will they also come to our NICU and are usually good
about these things. Any help or suggestions on this rare problem would be
helpfull breastfeeding or otherwise.
