As a public health professional, I am a strong advocate of the use of Flu
vaccine. One caveat to the previous post approving its use in lactating
women is important however...IF THERE IS ANY EGG SENSITIVITY IN THE MOM OR
BABY (EITHER DIRECTLY OR VIA BMILK), DON'T RECOMMEND THE VACCINE. Anyone
administering the vaccine should already be aware of this, but sometimes
the baby's allergic sensitivities are ignored. I have a co-leader who
jokes that her son would break out if a chicken walked passed her house.

Lactnet should probably contain a warning to the effect "May be
addicting...view with caution and with an alarm set to go off (so you don't
have hours mysteriously "sucked" away"--albeit educationally). Thanks to
all those post-ers.
