Hi all,
I have a question brought to me from the hospital nurses that needs
a quick reply. A woman had a motor vehicle accident three days ago and
ended up with a c-section so is post section day 2 now. She has no broken
ribs but a large amount of bruising from the nipple to the underarm on the
right side. The baby is nursing well on the left side but the mother finds
it too painful to nurse on the right side and is pumping on that side. She
is pumping a lot of blood. The question is: Is the pumping going to hinder
the healing process in that breast or should she continue to pump anyway?
Thanks in advance,
Jennifer
