I received a call from a mom who is nursing her 2 month old. ( permission
to post) She also has a toddler who is not nursing, but just *might* be
sharing his pacifier with his little sister when no one is looking.
Her toddler had what the mom thought was thrush: white patch inside his
lip, swollen lips, reddened throat, but no fever. She took him to the
pediatrician who felt it was "enterovirus". Baby sister now has similar
symptoms amd mom states that her nipples are now red, sore and flaking. She
feels that it might be yeast.
I don't know if and how enterovirus might effect a mom's nipples. Any
thoughts?
