Celine, So you've discovered that you're only human, pat yourself on the
back. I think you've realized one of the most important lessons in your new
profession... you can't do the work of nursing the baby, the mother must.
It is hard and can be very frustrating. The mother and baby must find the
way. You are there to help her, support her, offer her new ideas and
tricks, follow up with her to guide her shaky confidence and watch. You
will learn from each mother something new that you can pass on. One of the
first signs of becoming an expert in any field is realizing you know so very
little and your mistakes and bad days may well be your best education. You
knew how to be a good nurse, now you have to put that cap on backwards!!!
Who rules this job? The mom and baby, you can't get your answers out of
books. Now you're learning how to be a lactation conslultant. Good luck
and smile, you're helping more than you'll ever know.

first time in two weeks!)
