i would like input from anyone with some experience in this area. i don't
know all the details yet. mother with a 33wk infant in nicu, had treatment
for breast cancer during her pregnancy. infant is doing well in nicu there
for prematurity no others problem sofar. mother has been encouraged to
breastfeed infant. don't know medication mother will be on for chemo now
infant is delivered or if combined with radiation. are there some chemo
drugs that have a long half life or that further exposer for the infant
would be of more concern then others? my first thoughts when asked about
this case was that the mother would not be encouraged to breastfeed since
the infant had so much exposer already to the chemo drugs. will give more
specifics as available to me.

thank you for replies
