i know a mum who is still pumping at 11 months, baby takes only very
small doses of solids and has to be supplemented with small doses of
formula from almost the beginning, as the mom had surgery on one
breast and could not boost production, not even with the help of
domperidone etc.
she has been thinking about getting the baby back on the breast
several times (it's an extreme case of nipple confusion), but by now
has made her peace with pumping and plans to pump as long as she feels
the baby needs her milk, so i guess she's going to pump at least 2
years.
