I would suggest a brief and sincere note to the nurse, on a personal level,
explaining that you do your very best as a LLL Leader to provide a
supportive environment for all mothers, and that you are very interested in
working with other professionals to support bf moms. I would add that it is
often hard when one person from one "group, " (ie nurses in this case)
feels negatively about an entire organization...and that organizations are
made of many individuals. Not all of any one group can be categorized and
compartmentalized by a comment, and that you would never think of
compartmentalizing all nurses as being one way, or all doctors as being
another way, and that LLLeaders come in all shapes and sizes, and that you
look forward to working on building a good relationship with her so that
more mothers and babies can benefit.

I'd also make it friendly, and invite her to tea at your house or something
intimate like that. It is easier to make a friendly picture of someone if
you see how they are in person, in a nice informal setting.
