It seems that I am seeing a pattern  in BF moms who are on progesterone only
pills and having supply problems.   I have counseled about 3-4 moms over the
past year with the following characteristics.

    1.  Their babies sleep thorough the night 8-12 hours.
    2. They feed 4-6 times during the day.
    3.  They start the pills in the 3rd month of the infants life.
    4.  They may have a precipitating event such as illness with cold or flu.
    5. They are not aware that the progesterone only pills may affect milk
supply.

You may want to keep these in mind when counseling a BF mother about birth
control options.
All mothers should be informed that any BCP can potentially affect milk
supply and then be given some anticipatory guidance on how to correct their
supply problem.
