A mom called to ask me about continuing to bf her 21 mo. while pregnant
because her MD had told her to wean. After explaining about oxytocin
and nutrition, the mom said the MD wasn't concerned about that, or her
progesterone suppositories - he was concerned about elevated estrogen in
the breastmilk getting to the toddler! As fast as we get rid of one
myth, another replaces it. (This conversation also reminded me to hear
the question the mom is really asking before I answer it).
