Hi,

There has been a quite a flurry of notes about spring water and mineral
water.

I would like to point out that while some people purchase bottles of water
called "spring water" or "mineral water", there are many other people who
drink the exact same water from their home facets.

Thus if one says that the above kind of water, whether it is called mineral
or spring, is not safe for mixing with formula, then I would say that this
is a more serious issue, since thousands and thousands of families are
mixing this water, their "tap" water, with formula in the areas where this
water is being bottled.

I would like to suggest that perhaps we are making a mountain out of a mole
hill.

Perhaps the message needs to be that one does not necessarily get a benefit
from using purchased "spring" or "mineral" water to prepare baby formula.
The company that is distributing bottles in hospitals suggesting to mothers
that if they use their water, their babies will get better quality ABM, is
playing on many people's indiscriminate belief today that what is labeled
"natural" is better.
