When I was doing hospital nursing in the 70s, circs were often done in the
delivery room where I worked. Did not interfere with breastfeeding for
most--down time fairly brief. Also, many had epis--of course, these weren't
given until 6+ cms. and short-acting Xylocaine usually used. Again, did not
see so many "dopey" behaving babies then. What is going on?
