Subject: Re: Banning formula samples in Texas

This *IS* a positive step - when discussed previously, some had issues with
the language. I would like to point out that the bills are worded in such a
way that prohibits providers from *PROMOTING* formula. I doubt this would
preclude the provision of samples to a malnourished child as someone
pointed out in the previous discussion on this topic. Just thought I would
clarify that point while the topic was up for discussion again.

The most impressive paragraph in this article, IMHO, is that the formula
industry has not done anything yet!! _http://www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/11050216.htm_

Please send an email, make a phone call or write a letter to someone in the
Texas legislature. Even if you do not live in Texas or even in the U.S. your
communications will show support. Texas is near the bottom of the heap in
many categories (education, uninsured populations, first in pre-term births
etc.) and this would certainly be a great FIRST!
