HI folks,
Suffering from some prolactin induced brain-fading, my fellow
Leaders and I got to questioning the storage guidelines for breastmilk the
other day...no one could remember what the "latest" are. We have the BAB and
then the '94 Medela, which differ...
Please correct me if I'm mistaken, but freshly expressed breastmilk
can be kept at room temp for up to 10 hours and that was bc they stopped the
test at ten, not bc it suddenly went bad, correct? But what about thawed milk?
I ask because the question I get(on this topic) most frequently is
about the thawed breastmilk, warmed in a bottle, half drunk -- can you keep
that or do you have to dump it... should it be refridgerated before the next
feeding or would the cooling/reheating do more harm than leaving it sit at
room temp...

Thanks for helping clear the mud from my poor addled brain tonight!

aLLLways,
Anne
