Hi, all,
I posted a little while ago about a mom diagnosed with ankylossing spondylitis.
The doctor tried her on Sulfasalazine, with no improvement in joint pain.
Now, he wants to try Plaquenil (which I see from Dr. Hale's book is OK) in
conjunction with Methotrexate 2.5 mg. twice a week x 3 months. As soon as
she mentioned the Methotrexate, my heart sank... Even though this is a low
dose, it is a chemo drug.
This mom is an RN, and is so upset about possibly weaning her third child (she
wasn't successful breastfeeding her other two), but she is in a lot of pain,
The doctor has recommended that she take some time off work....12 hour shifts
are tough. Would that alone help?
Thanks for any input.
