Heather, Thanks for the explanation. I wondered about vanilla because in
the eastern US a few years ago, there was a vanilla flavored/scented
pacifier which was passed out in nurseries which seemed almost to addict
babies to them...or maybe their parents were addicted as they would call
in the middle of the night looking for a relacement! I thought you had
discovered a trick to lure reluctant babies to the breast...has anyone
ever tried to do that? place a drop of vanilla near the areola and work
with a reluctant nurser? or maybe have the mother put a drop on her
finger and lure the baby to the breast? Just a thought.
