Just wanted to add to my previous post about the faire. There were three men
who stand out because of their positive support of breastfeeding. The soon
to be grandfather and former bank vice president. He and his wife were
collecting information for their pregnant daughter. They were going to help her
after the baby comes and hope she will breastfeed. In his professional life as a
banker, this man hired and promoted many women. He was supportive of them
breastfeeding and tried to make it work for them.

The second was a young, eager, excited dad to be accompanying his pregnant
wife. He said he wanted to do anything he could to help his wife breastfeed
successfully and was quoting all the latest research to us.

The last was the older gentleman who had the exhibit booth behind us. He
came over to share his thoughts on breastfeeding. He goes all over the country
for baby portraits and baby expos. His words: "Breastfed babies are the
happiest and least fussy babies and take great pictures and I tell all the mothers
they should breastfeed because it is healthy and natural." Isn't he a great
salesman?

It was also exciting to see a booth selling a locally produced video for moms
and dads promoting and supporting breastfeeding. A highlight for us was
seeing NJ's own Alicia Dermer, a wonderful breastfeeding advocate and physician.

As always it is better to learn from the negative but focus on the positive.
