Kathleen,
I see your point.  You are right, of course, after a showing them how to
attach the kit and signing the rental contract it is Lactation Consulting.
I just don't feel that I can drop a pump off without making sure they know
how to use it and answering any questions they may have about why they're
using it.  The sticky part here is that it's our LLL Group that rents the
pumps.  If someone calls me as a LLL Leader, I can't charge them for my
time.  They expect to be able to ask me breastfeeding questions in my role
as a Leader.  If it is someone who contacts me as an IBCLC I can charge them
for my time and if they need to rent a pump I have one handy & it's nice
that our Group benefits from that.   Thanks for your post, it's given me
something to think about, maybe changing the way we have this set up.  My
co-Leaders, however, will probably not be sending you any thanks ;-))
