Andrea -
I have seen hundreds of frenotomies and never heard of thrush as a
consequence. Perhaps the physician noted some early symptoms of thrush and
asked the parents to observe and perhaps they were confused re possible
relationship. I think we've all experienced moms who claim we have said
something that it's impossible we would have even thought!

"I saw a client today whom I had recommended get a frenotomy. They did and
said the dr. told them when he did it the baby would probably get thrush.
And sure enough he had the whitest tongue I've seen in over 11 years. But I
have never heard this and it didn't make any sense to me why it would be so.

The mom was mostly Spanish speaking and the dad seems to speak pretty good
English, some I'm wondering if something got lost in translation.

Anybody else ever heard of an association between frenotomy and thrush?
