Dear Lisa,

In our state we are careful not to make a gadget from an appliance
intended for another use. We could set ourselves up for malpractice
suits.

I use M_____a shields and they are inexpensive and are not latex so they
don't have a strong smell. The only time I utilize shields is for the
purpose of bringing out inverted nipples. The shield allows a more
natural molding of the nipple for the babe's mouth. Within, 1 minute or
so (after we see some NS) the suction is broken, shield removed and baby
just pops right back on. After about 2 days shields are done away with
altogether!

Good Luck,
