I have always been told at erythromycin must be administered within  
the first 2 hours. Why does the vitamin K shot have to be given in  
the first hour? If I'm not mistaken, at our hospital it is given in  
postpartum, so it's at least 2-3 hours after the baby is born.

I have never understood why newborns need a bath. They have been  
living in a sterile environment for 9 months. What am I missing here?  
Seems to me that a bath can really interrupt the flow (no pun  
intended) of mother to child contact, bonding, energy and yes, milk,  
too.
