My thoughts are that it is a far leap from trigonella and allium extracts
used in rats to fenugreek used in women. I didn't look them up but seems
they are not exactly the same extracts. By the way, were the rats lactating?

I do appreciate West and Marasco including this in their book, and certainly
one would always follow a mom that you have recommended herb(s) to. If the
supply does not increase or decreases, you would stop it. This study would
not stop me from suggesting this herb. If I was aware of a mom's low thyroid
status, I would refer her for treatment of that.

I also highly recommend the West and Marasco book. In fact, I recommended it
yesterday to a 28 wks pregnant primipara who called me concerned that she
has symptoms of PCOS and hypoplastic breasts, after talking with her awhile
and reassuring her we would support her when she has her baby.

The study was: Tahiliani P, Kar A. The combined efects of Trigonella and
Allium extracts in the regulation of hyperthyroidism in rats.
Phytomedicine. 2003;0(8);665-8.
