I have a client with a five month infant that is breastfed. The
mother's breasts are VERY large. She has always used a modified
football hold because of this. However, the infant is getting larger
and this position is not working as well because of his size and weight.
She feels that she can only feed him at home because of this and has
remained at home a lot because of this. She plans to continue to
breastfeed but is not sure how she can physically handle this.
Does anyone have any creative ideas about positioning. A cradle hold
will not work physically, this women's breasts take up much of her lap,
leaving only a few inches between them and her knees when she is
sitting.
