Many families may have this terrible genetic predisposition which
doesn't show up in all members.  I would think that if this baby can be
diagnosed this early (and I'm not convinced that he can be) then the
whole family has time to make  nutritional and lifestyle choices that
may change the outcome.  At least it is a possibility that can be
monitored, if known, rather than repeating the tragic loss of the baby's
uncle.
