There is always an alternative, it just may have to be an IV antibiotic
though.  Many quite strong IV antibiotics are not absorbed by the GI
tract so even if they get through to the milk baby won't absorb.   IV
therapy can be done at home these days with a heparin lock and mom only
hooked to tubing during medication infusion time.

I am not knowledgeable about which antibiotics are effective for
pseudomonas but there has to be more than one.  Call the lab and ask
which antibiotics typically show up as effective on most culture and
sensitivities of pseudomonas or consult a microbiologist or infectious
disease specialist!
