What is your business model and expense base? A simple business plan
includes all expenses - phone, utilities, ads, gasoline and travel
(check tax info for per mileage reimbursement rates), licenses,
insurance, etc. on an annual basis, then cost of supplies and goods sold
(supplies include cleaning stuff, non-reimbursible items, etc.),
accounting help, legal fees, etc. Annualize the amount, then divide by
12 to come up with your monthly amount. Then look at what you are
charging for your visits, your anticipated volume, etc. You can
anticipate losing money the first 3-5 years in a business usually.
That's why private L.C.'s need somebody to support their habit (either
work another job or have a partner willing to support you while you
establish your business!) If you just go on a percentage basis, you may
make money yourself, but you may be in debt with credit card companies
etc by the end of the year! Just MHO and observation! (That's why most
my friends who went solo didn't last long - when they didn't have a
backup support person!)

Subject: Private Practice as a group

Hello wise ones:

I know you are all busy but I have a question. If you could email me
privately at [log in to unmask] I would appreciate it.

I would love to know how those of you with a group lactation practice
split fees. Especially if one person owns the practice, then do you
split the lactation fee somehow like 80% to the LC who does the consult
and 20% to the practice? Or something like that. To cover expenses like
advertising, supplies, etc.

I am asking for your been there, done that and I have a system that
works experiences. I would appreciate a short email and I promise not to
bombard you with questions.

Thanks so so much!

Micky Jones
