The newest BAB says that the Lyme spyrochete can be transmitted to an unborn
via the placenta. Citing the 25th Edition of The Red Book (2000) by the
AAP, says that there is no evidence Lyme Disease can be transmitted through
breastfeeding & continuing to breastfeed is not a risk. Mothers suspected
of having Lyme Disease need to be treated with the appropriate antibiotics,
most of which are compatible with breastfeeding.
